On the end of the cord, there is a chromium plated steel ring, about 1" outside diameter and made from wire (with a welded joint) that is about 1/8" in diameter. It would be easy to duplicate in stainless steel, with a silver-soldered joint.

The blind has no ratchet and the ring is hooked onto a hook forward of the driver's right ear to keep the blind up when it is needed.

An eye is positioned the correct distance behind the hook, so that the ring is held firmly in place by the taut string, when the blind is retracted.

I have been asked about the purpose of the eyes and the hook in the headlining of the Briggs bodied L.D.10.s. The hook is located above and in front of the driver's right-hand shoulder. The series of eyes are located in a row, above and behind the driver's R.H. shoulder. They run in line, all the way to the back window.

The answer to the question, is that there should be a roller blind on the rear parcel shelf and the operating cord from this blind should travel forward, through the eyes, to the eye that is located above the driver's shoulder, where it should terminate with a metal ring. To raise the blind, when a vehicle behind will not dip its headlamps, the L.D.10. driver has simply to pull the ring forward and place it over the hook. This action will raise the rear window blind and hold it there.
